The South Carolina State Lottery
The South Carolina Education Lottery (SCEL) began in 2002, the state is a member of the Multi-State Lottery Association (MUSL) which means you can play nationwide games such as Powerball and Mega Millions in the state of South Carolina.
There are some games that are SCEL only games, these include Pick 3, Pick 4, Palmetto Cash 5, and scratch tickets. For every dollar earned by the lottery 26.4% is transferred to the Education Lottery Account for the General Assembly to appropriate to support education programs for students of all ages in South Carolina.
You have to be 18 to purchase SCEL tickets.
Excepting Sunday where it’s drawn just once, the Pick 3 and Pick 4 games are drawn twice daily, whilst Palmetto Cash 5 is drawn daily.
