The Pennsylvania State Lottery
The Pennsylvania Lottery has been operating in the Keystone State for over 40 years, since it began operating in 1972. It has an extensive range of draws making under the broad umbrella of the organisation. They include Powerball, which boasts a $94,000,000 prize pool, two Daily Number draws, two daily 4 DAY draws, two Quinto draws, DAY and EVE, Treasure Hunt, Cash 5 and Match6.
The state’s Lottery is coordinated by the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, which aims to benefit Older Pennsylvanians through the draws and ensures that a percentage of the money generated is directed to a range of iniatives under this broad remit.
These include long-term living services, low-cost prescription drugs, Senior centres, property tax & rent rebates, as well as free and reduced-fare transit. The Pennsylvania Lottery contributed over $1 billion for these programs in 2012. The PA Lottery has contributed around $22.6 billion to Benefits for older Pennsylvanians since it began.
